SMK Ash Shofa Visit: Digital Archive Management is an Important Skill

The Faculty of Economics received a visit from SMK As-Shofa Tasikmalaya, Tuesday (18/10). This visit was attended by 25 students from the Accounting department and 7 teachers, taking part in the practice of digital document management at the Laboratory of Office Administration Education Study Program FE UNY. In his remarks, the Principal of SMK As-Shofa, Undang Faojudin, S.Ag, M.Pd., said that students were indeed invited to visit some universities and to gain useful experience and insight. While the Head of the Department of Administrative Education, Dr. Rosidah, M.Sc., said that this training does not seem to be related to the (Accounting) field of study. "But actually, digital archive management skills are very much needed nowadays and are still relevant to the accounting field," she said.

Students of SMK As-Shofa Tasikmalaya follow the practical activities of managing digital documents in the Laboratory of Office Administration Education Study Program FE UNY which is guided by lecturer Danang Setya Ramadhani, S.Pd., M.P.A and assisted by laboratory assistants for Office Administration Education. This practice explains all kinds of archives, how to store them, and the importance of digitally managing documents or archives. In addition to the theoretical explanation, students of SMK As-Shofa Tasikmalaya got the opportunity to practice digital archive storage using a scanner and then practice how to store digital archives using the subject system.

The students of SMK As-Shofa Tasikmalaya were very enthusiastic about learning to manage digital documents. It is hoped that they can better understand how important it is to manage documents or archives digitally in the current era.
