Kustitik, a lecturer in Administrative Education from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Yogyakarta State University (UNY), has successfully earned her Doctorate in Economic Education. She achieved this milestone after defending her dissertation, titled "Education Investment Decision Model for Employee-Class Students," at the Doctoral Program of FEB, State University of Malang (UM) on Thursday (16/5).

Her dissertation was developed under the guidance of three advisors: Prof. Dr. Heri Pratikto, M.Sc., Prof. Dr. Hari Wahyono, M.Pd., and Dr. Dwi Wulandari, M.M., CFP. During the open defense, Kustitik presented her research findings to a board of examiners that included Prof. Dr. Cipto Wardoyo, M.Pd., Prof. Dr. Nasikh, M.P., M.Pd., Dr. Endang Sri Andayani, and Prof. Dr. Siswanto, M.Pd. from FEB UNY, who served as external examiners.

Kustitik’s research addresses the challenge of high educational costs in Indonesia, which often limits access to higher education for lower-middle-income groups. She highlighted that employee-class programs can provide greater opportunities for workers wishing to pursue formal education. However, she also noted that maintaining employment while studying often poses challenges, leading to difficulties for many in achieving their educational investment goals.

Using an explanatory survey method, her study involved 316 respondents from Pamulang University and Sutomo University. The analysis, conducted with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using Smart PLS version 3, revealed that family financial socialization and the use of social networks have a positive and significant impact on educational investment decisions. Additionally, the study identified financial literacy and an internal locus of control as crucial mediating factors in these decisions.

With this achievement, Kustitik is expected to make a meaningful contribution to the field of Economic Education, particularly in advocating for more inclusive and accessible education policies. Her findings can serve as a valuable reference for policymakers aiming to develop programs that support continued education for workers and lower-middle-income communities in Indonesia. (fdhl)

Dosen Pendidikan Administrasi dari Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis (FEB) Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), Kustitik, berhasil meraih gelar Doktor dalam bidang Pendidikan Ekonomi setelah sukses mempertahankan disertasinya yang berjudul "Model Keputusan Investasi Pendidikan pada Mahasiswa Kelas Karyawan". Sidang disertasi ini berlangsung di Program Doktoral FEB Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) pada Kamis (16/5) lalu.

Disertasi Kustitik disusun di bawah bimbingan tiga promotor, yaitu Prof. Dr. Heri Pratikto, M.Si., Prof. Dr. Hari Wahyono, M.Pd., dan Dr. Dwi Wulandari, M.M., CFP. Dalam sidang terbuka tersebut, Kustitik mempertahankan hasil penelitiannya di hadapan dewan penguji yang terdiri dari Prof. Dr. Cipto Wardoyo, M.Pd., Prof. Dr. Nasikh, M.P., M.Pd., Dr. Endang Sri Andayani, serta Prof. Dr. Siswanto, M.Pd. dari FEB UNY yang bertindak sebagai penguji eksternal.

Penelitian dalam disertasi ini mengangkat isu mahalnya biaya pendidikan di Indonesia yang membuat akses ke pendidikan tinggi sulit bagi kelompok ekonomi menengah ke bawah. Kustitik menyampaikan bahwa program kelas karyawan menjadi salah satu solusi untuk memberikan kesempatan lebih luas bagi pekerja yang ingin melanjutkan pendidikan formal. Namun, status sebagai karyawan sering menjadi kendala utama dalam menyelesaikan studi, sehingga banyak mahasiswa gagal dalam investasi pendidikan.

Melalui metode survei eksplanatif, penelitian Kustitik melibatkan 316 responden dari Universitas Pamulang dan Universitas Sutomo. Hasil analisis menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) dengan bantuan program Smart PLS versi 3 menunjukkan bahwa sosialisasi keuangan keluarga dan penggunaan jejaring sosial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan investasi pendidikan. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa literasi keuangan dan internal locus of control merupakan faktor mediasi yang signifikan dalam mempengaruhi keputusan investasi pendidikan.

Dengan pencapaian ini, Kustitik diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan dalam bidang Pendidikan Ekonomi, khususnya terkait dengan kebijakan pendidikan yang inklusif dan terjangkau bagi masyarakat luas. Temuan-temuannya dapat menjadi acuan bagi pengambil kebijakan dalam mengembangkan program-program yang mendukung pendidikan berkelanjutan bagi pekerja ataupun masyarakat menengah ke bawah di Indonesia. Lecturer of Economics Education Faculty of Economics (FE) UNY, Kiromim Baroroh, attained a doctorate in the Doctoral Program in Economics Education, Universitas Negeri Malang after defending his dissertation before a board of examiners chaired by Dr. Djoko Dwi Kusumajanto, M.Sc., last Thursday (9/9).

Dr. Kiromim Baroroh, M.Pd. brought his dissertation entitled "Development of Community Economics Learning at the University" under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Wahjoedi, M.Pd., M.E., Dr. Hari Wahyono, M.Pd., and Dr. Sugeng Hadi Utomo, M.S.

Besides being chaired by Djoko Dwi Kusumajanto, the members of the board of examiners consisted of Dr. Cipto Wardoyo, S.E., M.Pd., M.Si., Ak., C.A.; Dr. Dedi Kuswandi, M.Pd.; Prof. Dr. Agus Suman, S.E., DEA, as well as the three supervisors.

This lecturer at the Department of Economics Education, Faculty of Economics, UNY, develops teaching materials for populist economics that are appropriate for the Economics Education study program. Kiromim uses the "Dick & Carey" model as a method of developing learning materials.

Kiromim concluded that environmental acceptance, support, and prospects for populist economics courses at the university turned out to be good and could be developed, especially in the Department of Economics Education. After going through the pre-test and post-test stages, it was found that there was an increase in student cognitive learning outcomes. The developed teaching materials can also bring out positive characters in students, including discipline, caring, tolerance, and love for the homeland. People's economics learning is considered appropriate to be held in the economics education department, both public and private universities because it can improve cognitive and affective learning outcomes.

Based on the conclusions above, this course is deemed necessary to be seriously developed and even become a national scale course. In addition, populist economics courses can be a means of socializing Pancasila values ​​in universities. It does not rule out the possibility of populist economics being taught at all levels of primary and secondary education.

Dosen di Jurusan Pendidikan Ekonomi FE UNY ini mengembangkan bahan ajar ekonomi kerakyatan yang layak untuk program studi Pendidikan Ekonomi. Kiromim memakai model "Dick & Carey" sebagai metode pengembangan bahan pembelajaran.

Kiromim menyimpulkan, penerimaan lingkungan, support, dan prospek mata kuliah ekonomi kerakyatan di universitas ternyata baik dan bisa dikembangkan terutama di jurusan Pendidikan Ekonomi. Setelah melalui tahap pre tes dan pos tes, didapatkan adanya peningkatan pada hasil belajar kognitif mahasiswa. Bahan ajar yang dikembangkan ini juga dapat memunculkan karakter positif pada mahasiswa, di antaranya kedisiplinan, peduli, toleransi, dan cinta tanah air. Pembelajaran ekonomi kerakyatan dinilai layak diselenggarakan di jurusan pendidikan ekonomi baik universitas negeri maupun swasta karena mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif serta afektif.

Berdasarkan kesimpulan di atas, mata kuliah ini dipandang perlu dikembangkan secara serius dan bahkan menjadi mata kuliah skala nasional. Selain itu, mata kuliah ekonomi kerakyatan bisa menjadi sarana sosialisasi nilai-nilai Pancasila di perguruan tinggi. Bahkan, tidak menutup kemungkinan ekonomi kerakyatan diajarkan pada semua jenjang pendidikan dasar dan menengah.
