The Faculty of Economics and Business of Yogyakarta State University (FEB UNY) held the Doctoral Promotion Session for Sholeh Hafidz, a lecturer from the Department of Management, on Thursday, 4 December 2025, at the Theater Room of FEB UNY. He successfully defended his dissertation entitled “Training Management Model for PTNBH Financial Administration Oriented Towards Growth Mindset.”
The dissertation was supervised by Prof. Dr. Lantip Diat Prasojo, M.Pd. (Vice Rector for Finance of UNY) as the promoter, and Dr. Sutirman, M.Pd. (Dean of FEB UNY) as the co-promoter. The examination panel consisted of Dr. Ani Widayati, Ed.D. as Chair of the Board of Examiners; Prof. Endang Mulyani, M.Pd. as Secretary; and Prof. Dr. E. Muhtar, M.Si., CFrA. and Prof. Dr. Tony Wijaya, M.M. as examiners.
During the session, the Chair of Examiners, Dr. Ani Widayati, officially announced that Sholeh Hafidz is the first doctoral graduate of the Doctoral Program in Economic and Business Education (PEB), Master and Doctoral Program (PMD) FEB UNY. He was also appointed as the ambassador of the study program, entrusted with contributing to academic development and strengthening the reputation of the program and the institution.
The dissertation addresses key challenges during the transition of UNY into a Legal Entity State University (PTNBH), particularly the need to enhance financial management competencies among administrative personnel. The study identified several issues, including uneven understanding of PTNBH financial principles, limited adaptation to updated regulations, coordination gaps, and the presence of fixed mindset tendencies. The absence of a structured training management system also became a major concern.
Using the Borg & Gall development model, the research produced the PROGREFI Model, a training management model designed to strengthen the financial administration capacity of PTNBH staff through the cultivation of a growth mindset. Validation results showed high expert agreement (Aiken’s V = 0.83–1.0), and field tests reported a significant increase in participants’ growth mindset scores from 3.6 to 4.5, with Wilcoxon test results indicating significance (p = 0.00001). The model was concluded to be feasible, effective, and practical for implementation.
The event was attended by faculty members from the Department of Management, the leadership of FEB UNY, representatives from the Academic Division of UNY, as well as family members. With the successful completion of the defense, Sholeh Hafidz officially earned his doctoral degree.
This research supports several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 4 (Quality Education) through competency development, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through improved institutional financial governance, and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) through strengthening accountability and management systems within PTNBH.
