The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (FEB UNY), welcomed a visit from the Department of Development Economics, Universitas Negeri Malang (UM), on Thursday (2/10). The delegation, consisting of three lecturers, was received by Dr. Denies Priantinah, Vice Dean for Research, Collaboration, Information Systems, and Business Affairs (RKSIU) FEB UNY.
In her welcoming remarks, Dr. Denies expressed appreciation for the visit and the continuation of the existing collaboration. “This collaboration is very important to strengthen. We hope that joint activities will not stop here but can be extended and expanded in the future,” she stated.
Representing UM Malang, Robanayati, Secretary of the Department of Development Economics and Head of the Undergraduate Program in Economics Education, conveyed that the purpose of the visit was to continue the implementation of cooperation outlined in the Implementation Agreement (IA) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). “According to the provisions, the IA and MoA must be renewed annually. On this occasion, we also brought the documents to be re-signed,” she explained.
In addition to the renewal of the agreements, the visit also discussed plans for a teaching collaboration. Two lecturers from UM Malang are scheduled to teach in the Undergraduate Program in Economics Education at FEB UNY, with a minimum of four meetings or equivalent to 12 contact hours. This activity is part of fulfilling collaboration indicators as well as implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education across institutions.
Through this teaching collaboration, students are expected to benefit from more diverse learning experiences, while lecturers from both institutions can exchange insights and enrich their teaching practices.
The visit concluded with a warm discussion on opportunities for further collaboration in the form of joint research, academic activities, and community service.
In line with the commitment to sustainable development, this collaboration supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education through the improvement of cross-institutional learning quality, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals through strengthening partnerships between higher education institutions.
